We offer 2 options for commercial carpet cleaning:
- VLM or Very Low Moisture (also called Encapsulation Cleaning)
- Hot Water Extraction (commonly referred to as Steam Cleaning)
Both options, by themselves or a combination of, are great for cleaning commercial carpets. They both yield amazing results and can save you money over time.
Hot water extraction
This method can remove the most soils from carpets.
Hot Water Extraction consists of pre-vacuuming carpets, pre-spraying cleaning agent and power agitation to separate soil from the carpet fibers. This soil is then rinsed from the carpets using a hot water rinse and a powerful vacuum (either a portable or truck mount unit). This method extracts soils and as much moisture as possible from the carpets leaving them clean.
However, when compared to VLM, it is more time consuming, requires longer set up and drying times and is also noisier.
It is recommended to do this occasionally, even if VLM is used on a regular basis, because it truly deep cleans carpets.
Very low moisture
VLM is a gentle low moisture way of cleaning carpets.
VLM is quickly becoming the go-to choice for commercial carpet cleaning, as it has less downtime and can cover a larger area in less time.
A counter-rotating brush or vacuum is used to remove particulates like dirt and hair from the carpet fibers. After a cleaning agent has been applied to the carpet, the counter-rotating brush or an orbital pad machine with a bonnet is used to agitate the cleaning agent deep into the carpet fibers to separate and encapsulate the dirt. With subsequent vacuuming, the carpet will get cleaner and cleaner.
The advantage of an orbital pad machine over a counter-rotating brush machine, is that the pad or bonnet also attracts soil and helps remove it from the carpet leaving less soil to be suspended and picked up later by vacuuming.
VLM is the least obtrusive method for cleaning commercial carpets. The cleaning equipment used is much quieter, the carpets dry much faster and no hoses need to be run. Cleaning can even be accomplished during regular business hours.
VLM is a cheaper option than hot water extraction because it requires less time and equipment. VLM is also a great maintenance option to be done between traditional hot water extraction cleanings as it keeps carpets looking vibrant and clean and can help the carpet from re-soiling as fast.
